Connecting a light to the ceiling wiring should be done by a qualified electrician.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eOn a table, unscrew the lower ring from the socket of your cord set.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePass the socket down through the hole in the top of the shade.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eScrew the ring back onto the socket below the top. The shade rests on the ring.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eScrew in an E27 LED bulb (globe, up to 45 mm diameter).\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eHang the cord set and connect it as described in its own instructions. Switch the power back on.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eChanging the bulb\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSwitch the light off and let the bulb cool. Slide the shade up the cord, change the bulb, and let the shade slide back down onto the ring. The weight of the books holds the bookend upright. For this reason, the bookend does not need a heavy filling.
