STOLAPendant

One soft fold runs down the front and leans as it rises. The back stays a quiet, perfect curve. STOLA is named after the long draped garment of Rome: a column of cloth with one fold falling down it. It is designed and made in our studio in Germany, with a mineral surface that reads like stone by day and glows warm when the light is on.

The stola was the long draped garment of Rome. STOLA keeps one of its folds.

Hanging it

It rests on the ring.

  1. Unscrew the lower ring from the socket of any E27 cord set.
  2. Pass the socket down through the hole in the top of the shade.
  3. Screw the ring back on below the top. The shade rests on it.
  4. To change the bulb, slide the shade up the cord and let it drop back.

Installation
  1. Switch off the power at the fuse box and check that the wires are dead. Connecting a light to the ceiling wiring should be done by a qualified electrician.
  2. On a table, unscrew the lower ring from the socket of your cord set.
  3. Pass the socket down through the hole in the top of the shade.
  4. Screw the ring back onto the socket below the top. The shade rests on the ring.
  5. Screw in an E27 LED bulb (globe, up to 45 mm diameter).
  6. Hang the cord set and connect it as described in its own instructions. Switch the power back on.
Changing the bulb

Switch the light off and let the bulb cool. Slide the shade up the cord, change the bulb, and let the shade slide back down onto the ring. Leave about 25 cm of free cord above the shade for this.

Care and safety
  • Use LED bulbs only. Never use halogen or incandescent bulbs: the shade is made of plastic and must not get hot.
  • The shade rests on the ring and is not locked to it. Do not pull or push it upward while the light is hanging.
  • For dry indoor rooms only.
  • Dust with a soft, dry brush. Do not use water or cleaning products.
  • Keep away from open flames and heat sources.
